Officers In 2-And-A-Half-Hour-Long Standoff, As Guest Refuses To Leave Hotel Room In Terryville: Police

TERRYVILLE, NY — Officers were engaged in an two-and-a-half hours-long standoff with a man who barricaded himself inside a hotel room in Terryville on Tuesday, Suffolk police said.

Officers responded to America's Best Value Inn on Route 112 at around 8:30 a.m., after an employee reported that a guest threatened him, and when police arrived, the guest refused to leave his room, according to police.

The man left the room two and a half hours later, just before 11 a.m., and was taken to a local hospital for evaluation, police said.
