PORT JEFFERSON, NY — Suffolk police are seeking the public's help in identifying the suspect they say swiped a Dyson fan worth around $500 from Home Goods in Port Jefferson Station on Aug. 17.
A man swiped the merchandise from the Nesconset Highway location at around 7:35 p.m., according to police.
In images from security video, the man can be seen wearing a white T-shirt, dark-colored baggy pants, and a light-colored Yankees baseball cap.
Officers from the 6th Precinct's Crime Section in Selden are investigating the incident as petty larceny, according to a police news release.
Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest in the case. Anyone with information can submit an anonymous tip by calling 1-800-220-TIPS, using a mobile app, which can be downloaded through the App Store, or Google Play by searching P3 Tips, Tips can also be submitted online at P3Tips.com.
All calls, text messages, and emails will be kept confidential, police said.
