2. Mather Hospital rallies community in the fight against breast cancer (tbrnewsmedia.com) — Port Jefferson and Port Jefferson Station will glow pink all month as Mather Hospital's Paint Port Pink campaign returns with lightings, seminars, contests, and Wear Pink Day to promote breast cancer awareness. Local residents can join screenings, a women's health seminar at The Meadow Club, window and pumpkin decorating contests, and fundraising events while accessing mammogram services and education through the Fortunato Breast Health Center.

High school sports roundup: Soccer, field hockey, girls volleyball and boys golf (newsday.com) — Port Jefferson boys soccer fans can celebrate a dramatic overtime win, as Jaytee Driscoll-Stremich's long-range strike lifted the team to a 2-1 Suffolk VI victory over Greenport. The roundup also highlights strong performances from other Long Island schools in soccer, field hockey, volleyball, and golf, showcasing how local teams are faring early in the season.
4. MTA land acquisition opens door to future Port Jefferson branch upgrades (news12.com) — Port Jefferson Station residents could eventually see better Long Island Rail Road service after the MTA bought 46 acres at the former Lawrence Aviation site for a potential rail yard. While no construction or electrification projects are funded yet, officials say the land is a crucial first step toward possible double-tracking, electrification, and more frequent trains on the Port Jefferson branch.
