Bottom Line

Just how much

Perhaps one of the reasons the newer Port Jefferson Village website does not provide residents with historic meeting minutes, is so that expenditures cannot be tracted easily. For example, the Bakers Alley Project depended on many pieces from State funding, Senator approval, right of way expenditures to Danfords, a project manager and all contractors on the project. There is no record of total costs easily accessed by anyone interested in having the information, that should be accounted for in the Village meeting minutes. Is this to hide information, I don't think so. Do you? Think of all the large projects that have been done since 2008. Millions and millions of our tax money, matches for Grants and parking monies have been spent with no easy access for anyone to review in this day of computers. Many residents in my opinion will likely begin being concerned about Administration expenditures when and if the power plant taxes go away. Be aware that the administration may suprise us with more spending prior to a power plant resolution, because they can.
