New Wave: Dare To Be Different

Remember the first time you heard Billy Idol while cruising down the LIE?  Experience a screening and conversation about the most influential radio station in America, WLIR, which revolutionized radio by introducing New Wave and post-punk to the U.S. This documentary features music from icons like Simple Minds, The Cure, and Blondie, with a title song by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. Registration is free for this event presented by LIM and the Port Jefferson Arts Council.  Famed DJ Larry "the Duck" Dunn will be in conversation with WUSB staff/faculty member Norman Prusslin.
