World-Class Magician Who Has Performed for the Queen of England Comes to Port Jefferson's Theatre Three
Rocco Silano, the only American to win awards at two FISM World Championships of Magic, headlines the Parlor of Mystery with circus artist Greg Milstein on Thursday, October 22
PORT JEFFERSON, NY — Long Islanders can see some of the best close-up magic in the world in an intimate 80-seat-cabaret-style setting this month. On Thursday, October 22, at 8:00 PM, the Parlor of Mystery returns to Theatre Three's Second Stage with world-renowned magician Rocco Silano and internationally touring circus artist Greg Milstein, hosted by Long Island magician Mike Maione.
Silano is the only American to win awards at two FISM World Championships of Magic, the sport's equivalent of the Olympics, including the 2006 award for Most Original Magic Act. A multiple-time Merlin Award winner and recipient of the Golden Lion Award from Siegfried & Roy, he has performed around the world for audiences including Michael Jackson, Muhammad Ali, and the Queen of England. His television credits include multiple appearances on Masters of Illusion and a starring role in VH1's Celebracadabra.
Milstein has taught circus skills to more than one million students as Executive Director of NCP for more than 20 years, and has performed on the main stage in Moscow's Red Square. His work as a cultural ambassador has earned commendations from the U.S. Congress and the U.S. State Department.
"Rocco is the kind of performer magicians travel to see, and our audience gets to watch him from a few feet away," said Mike Maione, founder and producer of the Parlor of Mystery. "Add Greg's circus skills and a lot of audience participation, and it's a night you won't find anywhere else on Long Island."
Maione, who founded and produces the long-running Parlor of Mystery series at Theatre Three, brings his own blend of magic, comedy, and audience interaction as host. Strolling magicians Michael Healy and Kevin Rhodehouse will perform for guests before the show and during intermission.
