Carnivale Shutters its Carmine's Offshoot

New sushi restaurant to take over location in the Port Jefferson Station strip mall.

Only a few months after opening in the Home Goods strip mall in Port Jefferson Station, Italian lunch spot has shut down.

The restaurant was an offshoot of Carnivale, a pizza and family style Italian restaurant in the same shopping center.

A sign in the shuttered location says a new eatery, PJ Sushi Teriyaki, will take over the storefront.

"Carmine's is closed ... but Carnivale is expanding," read a separate sign on the door.

When it was open, Carmine's was a of the popular Carnivale restaurant, offering salads, paninis, soups and desserts.
