Comsewogue Students Host Veterans Day Breakfast

Boyle Road Student Council honors local veterans

The Student Council at Boyle Road Elementary School in the Comsewogue School District recently welcomed about two dozen veterans from the community to a Veterans Day breakfast. Students invited the veterans they appreciate in their lives to show their gratitude during a festive celebration.

“We had an amazing turnout for our Veterans Day breakfast and students put in such hard work to show their appreciation to the veterans in attendance. This was an amazing event for our students to use their creativity, skills and leadership to set up a celebratory breakfast, while learning more about what veterans did to serve our country,” said Boyle Road Elementary School Principal Nicole Sooknanan.

Chorus and orchestra students performed patriotic songs for the veterans in attendance, while they enjoyed their breakfast. Attendees also watched videos students made to share messages of gratitude and say thank you. Each veteran was called up for an introduction and recognized by students for their service.
