Comsewogue Students Send Valentine’s Day Cards to Local Veterans

Boyle Road students meet with Legislator Nick Caracappa for annual Valentine's Day project

Student Council members at Boyle Road Elementary School in the Comsewogue School District recently met with Suffolk County Legislator Nick Caracappa to take part in his annual Valentines for Veterans project.

“Valentine’s Day is a time to let others know you care about them and our students were so happy to show that care and support to local veterans. We thank Legislator Caracappa for speaking about his work with our student leaders and engaging them in this important project,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jennifer Quinn.

Students participated in the project by creating Valentine’s cards using traditional materials and digital platforms, such as Kami and Canva, to spread love and appreciation to local veterans.

During Legislator Caracappa’s visit, students also learned about the lawmaker’s role in the Suffolk County Legislature and a typical day in the life of a local elected official. Students prepared questions that they asked Legislator Caracappa about his work.
