I must state upfront that I have nothing against any church in the Port JeffersonVillage or anywhere for that matter. However I do think its very suspect for the Administration to allow the PJ Jitney to be used for the Greek festival at the request of Trustee Kathianne Snaden who is or was the co chairperson of the Greek Festival. It has been explained to the taxpayer for right or wrong that the Jitney is in operation to decrease the traffic within the Village and to transport riders from jitney stops throughout the Village to enhance traffif flow and entice riders to visit the restaurants and shops.
The Greek Festival is at the southern most area of the Village and thus the festival riders will park near the prescribed stops downtown board the "free"service and will be whisked away to uptown. This special service will add traffic to the downtown lots, move the visitors way out of town and the taxpayers pay for it. Hope the administration thinks the next one through better than this one.
