UPDATE: Police ID Driver Killed in Selden Crash With County Bus
The accident occurred Monday evening, police say.

One person is dead following a crash between a car and a Suffolk County Transit bus Monday evening in Selden.
The accident occurred shortly before 6 p.m. at the intersection of Dare and Richard roads, police said.
According to police, 20-year-old Zachary Rauso, of Selden, was driving a 1999 Mercury south on Dare Road when his vehicle was involved in a collision with the bus that was traveling north on Dare Road.

Rauso was pronounced dead at the scene. The bus driver, Leonard Secaira, 52, and the lone passenger on the bus were transported via Selden Rescue to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The bus was inspected by the Suffolk County Police Highway Patrol Motor Carrier Safety Section and towed from the scene. The Mercury was impounded for a safety check.

Detectives are still investigating the cause of the crash. Anyone who witnessed the crash and has not yet been interviewed by detectives is asked to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
