When will the residents speak out about the excessive push by the Port Jefferson Administration and now some members of the Village Parking committee. We are full, there is no more room for parking, stop the idiocy of trying to squeeze more people into the Village. Can one believe the Parking committee is talking about The Gap lot highrise mechanical parking, a barge or barges in the harbor and raising the downtown tennis courts to 2 levels with parking below. With the Shipwreck apartments, future highrise apartments at Cappys carpet property and uptown highrise project like dwellings, this Village is busting at the seams. There is some mention of Joe Earland Field,Caroline Ave being used for parking. The Administration should be very careful with this thought because the field is parkland and subject to the New York State Alienation Act, a law protecting resident parkland. Forget the commerce and think of the residents for a change. We went from a Village of the people to a Village of the business who do not even come close to the tax revenue the residents cover.
