Giveaway

Keep our assets private

The Port Jefferson Country Club Administration wants to allow non resident Country Club members to utilize our East Beach parking facilities as part of their membership package. The Country Club is a separate entity within the Village and has no business infringing on the limited parking space and services the tax payers support. If this is approved without a referendum of residents it will open the flood gates to the Country Club administration and the Village Board to giveaway the only perks left to taxpayers, parking facilities and our private beaches. They started with opening Club membership to Belle Terre residents, then business, then anyone wishing membership. The Village and Country Club administration even allows non residents to have a say in how the club is run by allowing non residents on the Board. This Club was purchased by the taxpayers for the taxpayers . The beaches are maintained with our tax money not non residents belonging to the Country Club. Stop the giveaways. If the village and Country club administration can't run the club financially without giving away taxpayer privileges, get someone in who can.
