PORT JEFFERSON, NY — Gun shots rang out in Port Jefferson early Sunday morning, prompting an investigation, Suffolk police said.
A 911 caller alerted the agency that they heard the sound of gun shots and 6th Precinct officers responded to West Broadway just before 2 a.m., police said. No injuries were reported, according to police.
The investigation is continuing.
