LI Man Drove To Oregon For Sex With Teen He Met In 'Among Us': PD
He's believed to have filmed an encounter, and sent a screenshot of the video to the victim's family member, Oregon sheriffs say.
PORT JEFFERSON STATION, NY — A Long Island man drove all the way to Oregon to have sex with a teen girl he met in the online game Among Us, according to law enforcement in Oregon.
A search warrant was served Wednesday morning at a home in Port Jefferson Station and Brent Johnson, 24, was arrested at a home in Bayport as part of an investigation by the Southern Oregon Child Exploitation Team joint inter-agency task force alongside the Rogue River Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations on Long Island, according to a news release.
In December 2021, investigators found Johnson, a Port Jefferson Station resident, drove from Long Island to Rogue River, Oregon, "to engage in sexual activity with a teenaged minor," the Jackson County sheriff's office said, adding that it was learned he "took her to a local hotel to have sex on several occasions."

"He is also believed to have filmed one of the sexual encounters, and later sent a screenshot of the video to a family member of the victim," department investigators stated in the release.
Investigators contacted the task force for help in February, and Homeland Security Investigations, as well as Rogue River police, obtained a federal search warrant for a home in Port Jefferson Station, ultimately leading to Johnson's arrest in Bayport, investigators said.

In Wednesday’s search warrant, investigators seized digital devices which will be taken to the task force in Medford, Oregon, and High Tech Crimes detectives will "forensically examine the devices for further evidence of child exploitation and to identify other possible victims," according to the release.
The case is being federally prosecuted in the District of Oregon, and it is ongoing, "with investigators working additional leads," the release stated.
Johnson has been federally charged with sexual exploitation of children, travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct, and possession, receipt, and distribution of child pornography, investigators said.
Investigators have reason to believe Johnson may have other victims, according to the news release. They are urging anyone with additional information about him, to call their local law enforcement agency or the Jackson County sheriff’s office tip line at (541) 774-8333.
The task force enables law enforcement agencies to collaborate with federal partners such as Homeland Security to effectively investigate and prosecute out-of-state suspects when they victimize children, according to investigators. It is a joint inter-agency task force, which was started in June 2020 to combat child exploitation and human trafficking.
The task force consists of investigators from the sheriff's office, Oregon State Police, local police departments, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Homeland Security, as well as prosecutors from our local, state, and federal law enforcement partners in Jackson and Josephine County.
