Man Assaulted During Fight In Coram: Police

The 54-year-old was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, Suffolk police say.

CORAM, NY — A man was taken to the hospital after being assaulted during a fight in Coram on Wednesday afternoon, Suffolk police said.

Two men got into a fight on Townhouse Drive just before 1 p.m., and one of them, a 22-year-old from Middle Island, punched the other, a 54-year-old Centereach, man in the eye, according to police.

The 22-year-old then ran away from the scene, police said.

The 54-year-old was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, and 6th Precinct officers found the 22-year-old a short time later.

He was arrested and charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor.
