Man Breaks Into 8 Occupied Homes In Suffolk: Police
He entered through the unlocked doors and windows of eight homes overnight between May and November, police say. Police are looking for him.
SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — A man broke into occupied homes in Coram and Middle Island eight times over the course of several months. The Suffolk County Police Department is looking for the man.
He entered the homes through unlocked doors or windows at night between May and November, police said. In two cases, the man made non-sexual physical contact with women or girls inside before fleeing, possibly on a bicycle, police said. In the other six invasions, the man left the home after being confronted by a resident.
No one was injured and nothing was stolen during the incidents.

The incidents occurred at eight separate homes at the following locations:
- Judith Drive, Coram, on May 5 around 1:30 a.m.
- Swezey Lane, Middle Island, on Sept. 6 around 4:50 a.m.
- Margaret Drive, Coram, on Sept. 8 around 4:45 a.m.
- Wilson Avenue, Middle Island, on Sept. 24 around 4:40 a.m.
- Margaret Drive, Coram, on Oct. 15 around 2:30 a.m.
- Adams Lane, Middle Island, on Oct. 28 around 2:55 a.m.
- Carr Lane, Coram, on Oct. 28 around 5:10 a.m.
- Carr Lane, Coram, on Nov. 10 around 2:35 a.m.
The man was described as black, between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet tall and thin, according to police.

The SCPD reminds residents the importance of locking doors and windows. Detectives are asking anyone with information on these incidents to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
