Police: Man Fatally Shoots Ex's New Boyfriend, Then Kills Himself in Port Jeff Station
Port Jefferson Station man confronted the couple outside L.I. Pour House Sunday night, police say.

Police are investigating a murder-suicide in Port Jefferson Station Sunday night in which a man shot and killed his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend before he turned the gun on himself, police said.
According to police, Frank Panebianco, of Mount Sinai, and his girlfriend, Jessica Kasten, both 28 years old, were out with friends at the L.I. Pour House, located at 650 Route 112. They were leaving the restaurant at about 11:20 p.m. when they were confronted in the parking lot by Kasten’s ex-boyfriend, 37-year-old Michael Skiadas, police said.
An argument ensued and Skiadas, of Port Jefferson Station, grabbed a shotgun from his Jeep, which was parked nearby, police said.

A friend, 32-year-old Jack Schneider, attempted to calm down Skiadas, but Skiadas then struck him in the head with the shotgun, police said.
Kasten, of Lloyd Harbor, and Panebianco attempted to drive away north on Route 112 when Skiadas ran toward their car and fired two shots, striking Panebianco in the torso, police said.

Skiadas then returned to his vehicle and shot himself, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Panebianco, and Schneider were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital, where Panebianco was pronounced dead. Schneider was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Kasten was not injured.
