PORT JEFFERSON FISHING

Bass fishing remained good for the past week, but may be starting to slow down from the initial flurry that started about two weeks ago.  Live bait was the key in catching some big bass.  Last big bass caught this past thurs morning, June 19th, and it weighed 24lbs.  This past tues, a 29in bass also caught with many big porgies also.

On the porgy front, 65 keepers were caught and another 20 shorts released.  Also some Sea Bass showing with some in the keeper size range, but another month is needed for the season to open.
