Port Jefferson Grand Opening of School Store

The Port Jefferson School District is thrilled to announce the successful opening of its new school store, a collaborative initiative designed to provide students with valuable real-world retail experience. Students, teachers, and support staff came together to celebrate this exciting addition to the school community.

The school store features an array of fun and practical items; including school supplies; decorative stickers; locker decorations; Port Jefferson logo merchandise; and essential hygiene products such as hair brushes, chapstick, lotion, and tissues. In addition, students can find unique items such as Croc charms, earphones, coloring books, and mini chess sets, making the store a one-stop shop for all their school needs and beyond.

“Our school store is more than just a place to shop; it’s a hands-on learning opportunity for our students,” said Dr. Jodi Cahill, Director of Special Education. “Through this initiative, students are gaining valuable skills in teamwork, customer service, and entrepreneurship while contributing to a vibrant school culture.”

During the opening event, students and staff enjoyed browsing the store’s inventory and shopping together, fostering a sense of community and excitement around this new venture. The store will not only serve as a resource for students but will also be a hub for creativity and collaboration, with students participating in various roles, from inventory management to marketing.
