Port Jefferson Lions Club Feeds 150 Families with Help from Comsewogue
Clinton Avenue Elementary School hosts volunteers for the club's annual holiday food drive
The Comsewogue School District recently welcomed the Port Jefferson Lions Club to Clinton Avenue Elementary School for the club’s annual holiday food drive. Volunteers assembled and stocked bags with groceries, which they delivered to 150 families in need throughout the community.
“The Port Jefferson Lions Club is an amazing organization full of thoughtful, selfless individuals who volunteered their time to make sure no family in our community would go hungry this holiday season. We’re so grateful to have hosted them for another successful food drive,” said Comsewogue Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jennifer Quinn.
The Port Jefferson Lions Club collected donations throughout November, which they used to purchase groceries and have them delivered to Clinton Avenue Elementary School. Volunteers sorted the groceries into bags, filling each with cereal, juice, fruit, vegetables, bread and a holiday ham.
