Port Jefferson Science Olympiad Team Places Sixth In State
It was the middle school team's best finish at an in-person event.

In the New York State Science Olympiad Competition, the Port Jefferson Middle School Science Olympiad team finished with a rank of sixth overall out of 40 teams throughout the state. This is the team’s best finish in an in-person event. The competition was held at East Syracuse Minoa High School in Syracuse, New York, on April 14 and 15.

“The students were successful through their hard work in studying scientific principles and engineering devices to complete various tasks, and earned a total of 12 medals in the events,” team coach and middle school science teacher Adam Bouchard said.
