Port Jefferson Station Family Dollar Robbery

Robbery occurred Friday morning, according to police.

The Family Dollar store in Port Jefferson Station was robbed by an unknown subject according to Suffolk County Police early Friday morning. According to information from the Suffolk County Police Department, a person was robbed at knife point by a subject outside the Family Dollar store located at 526 Jefferson Shopping Plaza. Although early reports of whether a weapon was used could not be confirmed late Friday night.

Crime scene investigators from the Suffolk County Police Department could be scene inside the store into the middle of the day Friday, taking measurements and dusting for potential finger prints.

The suspect fled with unknown proceeds. Shoppers who had plans to shop at the local Port Jefferson Station Family Dollar were surprised to see the police presence and the store closed. There were no reports of any injuries.
