Port Jefferson talent bring FLG Lacrosse success to new heights!
The victories were plentiful this summer for the first ever FLG Lacrosse 631 Teams due largely in part to tremendous Port Jefferson talent!
Another great summer season has come to a close for FLG Lacrosse!
With the amount of Port Jefferson talent playing for FLG Lacrosse 631 teams this summer, it's no surprise the amount of success that was had.
The 2019(631) team was lead by 10 Port Jefferson ladies! Defenders Sophia Azzara, Paloma Blatter, Reilly Free and Gianna Musicaro held it down running their backer zone which was near impossible to penetrate. The girls took pride in causing turnovers and coming up with some big 50/50 balls! Running the midfield, Julia Fernandes and Mia Genao proved time and time again that they're two of the best around. Julia's field vision and great lax IQ helped her to quarterback the team while Mia's knack for winning loose balls and putting the ball in the back of the net were imperative to the teams success. Olivia Fantigrossi, Emily Hughes, Lindsay Hanson and Kayleigh Mimnaugh lit up the scoreboard all summer coming up with huge goals when their team needed them the most. The offensive unit moved the ball beautifully and played together all summer.
Not to be outdone by their older counterparts, the 2021(631) team had much of their own success this summer. Arianna Andresen, Samantha Andresen, Mackenzie Beck, Alyssa Deacy, Jordan DePrima, Jaidyn Donley, Ava Fernandes, Mia Fernandes, Shannon Harrington, Sarah Ruggiero, Madison Shubert, Gabrielle Tommaso, Ava Tulimiero and Nelida Watson - all from Port Jefferson - played huge parts in the many victories for their team this summer. The 2021(631) team went on to win the LI Lax Fest Tournament as well as playing in the playoffs for the Beach Blast tournament and the Summer Slam. FLG is incredibly proud of this group of talented young ladies and we can't wait to see what the future brings for them!
