Really, how much?

nickle and dime

Though many Port Jefferson Village taxpayers just accept what the administration says and does, that of course is not the best way to deal with checks and balances? In my opinion many of the projects the administration gets us into are not publicized in a comprehensible format, there are multiple bids for one project and the same person overseeing most of them. Bakers alley for example was given State funding prior to Danfords contract to the Village for easements and right of ways of their property. There was no overall contract for the construction of the project. The nickle and dime attitude of the administration regarding lighting and railings as a throw in is questionable. The fountain at Founders was a complete surprise to many taxpayers. We still have no idea how much that cost. How many other projects are being done or planned for without the taxpayers being involved. It's just a do as they wish attitude the administration has in my opinion. The Village Treasurer must keep track of these expenditures and in my opinion each project should have a bottom line advertised on the Village Web site, monthly update or Village Facebook. We must wait another 2 years for relief, too bad.
