Report Of Gun Shots In Port Jefferson: Suffolk Police
There was a report of gun shots fired near Sheep Pasture Road just after 9 p.m. on Tuesday, a spokesman said.
PORT JEFFERSON, NY — Suffolk County police 6th Precinct officers responded to a report of gun shots fired in Port Jefferson just after 9 p.m. on Tuesday, a spokesman said.
Police said that the report concerned a location on Sheep Pasture Road. Officers, as well as a police helicopter, undertook a search of the area, but found "no indication a shooting had taken place," police said.
Police did not release any further information about the report.
