MOUNT SINAI, NY — A smoke shop in Mount Sinai was robbed at gunpoint on Friday afternoon, Suffolk police said. A man went inside Mount Sinai Smoke Shop on Nesconset Highway, waved a gun, and then demanded cash, police said, adding that the clerk complied, and the robber ran away. No one was injured. The robbery took place at around 3 p.m., police said. The investigation is continuing, according to police. Anyone with information is asked to call 6th Squad detectives at (631) 854-8643 or Crime Stoppers, a confidential police hotline, at 1-800-220-TIPS.
