Stop & Shop Hosts Grand Reopening Celebrations in Miller Place
The store features a focus on organics, prepared food offerings and local products

The celebrations were marked with a donation from Stop & Shop to the Food Pantry to support hunger needs within the community.
The Stop & Shop Supermarket Company LLC, held the grand reopening of its 49,000 sq. ft. store located at 385 Rt 25A in Miller Place, Long Island. Employing 180 associates, the store celebrated Stop & Shop’s commitment to the Suffolk County community with a weekend of sampling and in-store entertainment, as well as a few surprises.
“Stop & Shop looks forward to welcoming customers into our remodeled store that will provide a wider array of healthy choices at a savings. We’re sure shoppers will be pleased with our expanded offering of locally-sourced products, fresh meats and produce,” said Steve Kienzle, Senior Vice President Market Lead, South Market for Stop & Shop.

Miller Place customers will experience a new store layout that caters to the organic and natural food-focused buyer. The store has added new produce, frozen, dairy and natural refrigerated sections, and an entire aisle devoted to increasing fresh dairy, produce, soy, kombucha, natural, organic and gluten free offerings. With this new format, Stop & Shop naturally ties these departments together, creating a source of inspiration for healthy family meals.
Customers will also experience one of Stop & Shop’s only freshly squeezed juice programs in the newly expanded produce department, which also features a fresh melon bar, ready-to-cook convenience offerings, Nature’s Promise and Stop & Shop fresh brands. Additionally, the new enhanced specialty offerings feature expanded international food selections. The prepared food department offers a fresh sushi program, as well as Stop & Shop’s signature $4.99 rotisserie chickens and other hot and cold prepared food options. The expanded bakery and seafood departments respectively offer a wide variety of artisan store-made bread, and 100% sustainable fresh fish options and local selections when in season.

This newly remodeled Miller Place location also offers Stop & Shop’s time-saving “SCAN IT!” hand-held technological devices, which allow customers to scan and bag their groceries while they shop to allow for speedier checkout, as well as new self-checkout stations.
