Suffolk 7-Eleven Clerk Hospitalized After Robbery

A customer called 911 after finding the injured employee. Cops also probing 2 other robberies; 1 at gunpoint and the other at knifepoint.

A Suffolk County 7-Eleven clerk was hospitalized following a robbery early Monday in the third robbery of a Suffolk business in less than seven hours.

According to Suffolk Police, a man entered the 7-Eleven located at 1671 Route 112 in Coram at about 1 a.m. and assaulted the clerk. The robber took the cash drawer from the register and then fled on foot. A short time later, a female customer entered the store and called 911. The employee was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

A few hours earlier, police say a man armed with a handgun entered the Speedway gas station located at 80 Horseblock Road in Yaphank and demanded cash from the counter clerk. The clerk complied and the robber fled on foot at about 9 p.m. There were no injuries reported.

At around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, police say a man armed with a knife entered Island Dollar located at 579 Montauk Highway in Shirley and demanded cash. The clerk complied and the man fled on foot. There were no injuries reported.

"It doesn’t appear they are related to one another," a Suffolk Police spokesperson told Patch of the three robberies.

No arrests have been made.
