The present Port Jefferson administration, led by Garant, is destroying the entire personality of the Village in my and others opinion. West Broadway with its horrendous highrise apartments, blocking the view of the Village comming down Port hill, the old view approaching from the harbor and more to come at the old Gudsik site. Furthermore, Main St with Cappys soon to come 4 story highrise apartment complex, the anticapated addition of many more apartment buildings uptown and the parking lot giveways to bailout the apartment owners with taxpayer monies as done downtown on Barnum. They have run amouck with our prize possessions, serene, quiet, orderly, quaint, clean and safe environment. Through the questionable workings of the Suffolk IDA in my opinion, we do not collect any taxes on these buildings for 10 to 15 years. We pickup the slack for services, school taxes and an influk of traffic.
