The Mayor and Trustees of Port Jefferson Village are questioning the advice of professionals, the fire department of Port Jefferson Village, when it comes to a traffic light installation at the corner of Main and Liberty. The fire department spokesperson, the Chief, states that the light is not needed at that location. Are we to believe that the Mayor and Administration have better insight or professional input than the men and women who are personally aware, from actual experience for years of the traffic patterns within the Village boundries day and night, 365 days per year. I for one side with the Fire Department who protects us and puts themselves in danger for us every day of the year. Let the Mayor and Trustees utilize the resources they have instead of paying a high priced consultants. Listen to the Fire Department.
