Mayor Garant and all but one trustee have decided to gamble with peoples lives and limbs just to have a view of a boat race. The Port Jefferson Village pier, which is in need of " repair" as stated by the P.W.Grosser Consulting firm that performed the engineering study, will now be utilized for the summer despite the nature of the problems stated by the Engineering company. Is this a sane decision? Who in their right minds would allow unsuspecting residents and visitors to even approach the Pier. Perhaps the administration minus one should bring their family, chairs, and cooler chests and all their friends to take the chance of their lives as the mayor spins the big wheel gambling with lives. Who does this women think she is? Should the Port Jefferson Fire Department, Town, County or State step in to protect the unsuspecting persons relying on the word of the Mayor?
