I have requested in writing from the Port Jefferson Village Parking Committee to post meeting minutes according to standards set in Roberts Rules, so that the taxpayers have access to extremely important information regarding finances and procedures being decided by a group of resident members. I am sure they are doing the best they can. An example of the seriousness of meeting minutes being correct and through would be my multiple requests to clarify the project the administration seems to jump around about in my opinion. A $525,000. Bond was approved in 2016 for the demolishing of a home and building of a parking lot at 303 Barnum Ave. The space the funds were approved for have now been cut in half and the administration only refers to the property on the corner of Barnum and Caroline Avenues, with no mention of the 330 location. Have they approved another Bond or where are the funds comming from, as we have a right to know? The property on Caroline and Barnum is NY State protected approved Parkland and was not designated for a parking lot, it was designated so that the residents of Port Jefferson Village would have protected open space for ever.
