Woman, 94, Drowns In Backyard Swimming Pool On Long Island

MOUNT SINAI, NY — A 94-year-old woman drowned in the backyard swimming pool of a home in Mount Sinai on Thursday night, Suffolk police said.

Sixth Precinct officers were called to a home on Kingston Road where Kihee Kim was found unresponsive just before 8 p.m., police said.

Kim, who was staying at the home with a relative, was transported by ambulance to John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson where she was pronounced dead, according to police.

Homicide detectives are conducting an ongoing investigation.

Police did not release any further details.
