Woman Struck, Killed by Taxi in Port Jeff Station
No criminal charges have been filed in crash early Sunday.

PORT JEFFERSON STATION, NY - A 66-year-old homeless woman was struck and killed by a taxi in Port Jefferson Station early Sunday morning, police said.
According to police, Gail Oses was walking on Route 112, south of Chereb Lane, when she was struck by a southbound 2010 Crown Victoria at about 3:05 a.m.
Oses was transported by Port Jefferson Volunteer Ambulance to John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the taxi, a 64-year-old Centereach man, and his two male passengers were not injured.
The vehicle, which is owned and operated by Lindy’s Taxi, was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. No criminal charges have been filed.
