2 Women Arrested After Attempting To Steal From Macy's, Then Threatening, Shoving Employee: PD

One woman injured an Asset Protection agent's arm, NCPD says.

MANHASSET, NY — Two Astoria women were arrested after an incident in Manhasset on Saturday, police said.

Nassau County police said two women, Jaclyn Grillo and Diane Butrico, entered Macy's on Northern Boulevard, selected merchandise, and concealed the items in a reusable bag on April 18 at approximately 3:13 p.m.

The women then tried to pass all points of purchase, but were met by Asset Protection, police said. According to police, Asset Protection agents confronted Grillo, who threatened and shoved an employee to the ground, injuring the man's arm. Both women were arrested, NCPD said.

Grillo, 21, was charged with second-degree robbery and assault on a retail worker, and was arraigned on Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead, police said.

Butrico, 60, was charged with fourth-degree criminal facilitation and petit larceny, NCPD said. She was issued a desk appearance ticket, returnable to the First District Court in Hempstead, on April 29, police said.
