50 Firefighters Battle Manhasset Blaze, 3 People Forced Frome Home, Fire Marshals Say

1 Firefighter suffered heat exhaustion while on scene, fire officials say.

MANHASSET, NY — Fifty firefighters were on scene battling a Manhasset house fire on Saturday evening, fire marshals said.

Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department responded to a two-story home on Summer Ave. at about 5:06 p.m., Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office said.

Three adults were forced from their home after the fire, and one firefighter was evaluated by EMS for heat exhaustion at the scene, fire marshals said.

New Hyde Park, Great Neck Alerts, and Great Neck Vigilant fire departments responded as mutual aid, fire marshals said.

NCFM and NCPD Arson/Bomb Squad are investigating the cause of the fire, and Red Cross has been requested for the three people who have been displaced, fire marshals said.
