Local students, including Port Washington resident Keren Blumenfeld, joined Kyra’s mother in demanding New York lawmakers prioritize child safety in custody cases and move the stalled bill to a vote.    

• Port Washington Public Library voters approve $8.25M budget (longislandpress.com) — Port Washington residents have approved an $8.25 million 2026–27 library budget that raises the tax levy 4.34% while staying under the state cap. Voters also reelected Board President William Keller and Trustee Nancy Comer as the library plans to maintain high levels of programming, digital services, and facility upgrades.
