ROSLYN HEIGHTS, NY — Three men were arrested after a burglary in progress occurred in Roslyn Heights on Monday night, police said.
Nassau County police said officers responded to a call for a burglary in progress on Spruce Street at approximately 10:33 p.m. on May 4.
The 35-year-old homeowner observed on his surveillance system two men attempting to gain entry into an outdoor storage unit, and immediately called 911, police said.
Before the officers arrived, the men fled the scene in a car in an unknown direction, NCPD said.
Upon investigation, officers located the men and placed them under arrest, and no injuries were reported, police said.
William Salmeron, 36, of Westbury, and Darwin Amaya, 35, of Hauppauge, were charged with second-degree criminal mischief, third-degree attempted grand larceny, and third-degree criminal trespass, NCPD said. They will be arraigned on May 5 at First District Court in Hempstead, police said.
Aravinda Ramkistodas, 30, of Bay Shore, was charged with multiple vehicle traffic law violations and was released on an appearance ticket returnable to First District Court in Hempstead on May 19, NCPD said.
