Successful FOL Book & Author Luncheon Wowed Crowd of 285

On Friday, May 1 the Friends of the Library hosted its 57th Annual Book & Author Luncheon at The Garden City Hotel. An enthusiastic audience of 285 library patrons and community leaders enjoyed the stimulating and entertaining conversation between Emma Straub, author of the NY Times bestseller American Fantasy, and moderator, novelist Meg Wolitzer.

FOL President Pam O’Connell thanks all the attendees and event sponsors: “Your presence ensured the success of the luncheon as a literary event, a longstanding community tradition and a fundraiser for the FOL!”

Monies raised from the event will help support many programs and services – including free museum passes, adult lectures, SoundSwap concerts, new items in the Library of Games and Gadgets, and new tech for patron use in the “Lab” – not funded by the library’s budget.
