• Port Washington Public Library exhibit spotlights small businesses for Small Business Awareness Month (longislandpress.com) — Port Washington residents can now explore a new exhibit at the Port Washington Public Library that celebrates more than 60 local small businesses and the people behind them. Curated by librarian Rachel Fox, the display grew from her “Rachel’s Merchant Mondays” project and has drawn praise from town officials for encouraging residents to shop local and keep neighborhood storefronts thriving.    

• Port Washington educator named 2026 Best Teacher (longislandpress.com) — A Port Washington educator, Jason D’Agostino of My Spectrum School on Sintsink Drive East, has been named Best Teacher of Long Island 2026 after strong community support. Families, school leaders, and Council Member Mariann Dalimonte say his STEAM-focused, nurturing approach has made the Port Washington school feel like a family and inspired children to love learning.
