The Port Washington Police District (PWPD) will welcome families from across the community to its fifth annual National Night Out celebration on Tuesday, August 4, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Lions Field, located at 25 Glen Lane in Port Washington. The free event, with a rain date of Thursday, August 6, will offer an evening of family-friendly activities while giving residents an opportunity to meet and connect with the first responders who serve the Port Washington community.

"National Night Out gives our officers and residents a chance to connect outside of an emergency and build the familiarity and trust that help keep Port Washington safe," said Kevin McCarroll, Chief of Police for the Port Washington Police District. "We look forward to welcoming families back to Lions Field for a fun evening that reflects the strong partnership between our Police District and the community we are proud to serve."

Special giveaways will be provided to the first 200 children in attendance. Littig House Community Center and Port Washington Youth Activities have also played an important role in supporting the event.

"National Night Out is great for our kids and the community," said Lynette Batts, Executive Director of Littig House Community Center.

"This event is about bringing people together and strengthening the relationships that make our community special," said Sean McCarthy, Chair of the Port Washington Police District Board of Commissioners. "National Night Out allows families to spend time with our officers, learn more about the work of our local first responders and enjoy a memorable summer evening with their neighbors."
