Port Washington National Night Out To Take Place Today

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — National Night Out will be honored throughout Nassau County, including in Port Washington.

This annual campaign promotes police-community partnerships aiming to make neighborhoods safer to live in.

Port Washington officials said the campaign seeks to "strengthen the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement, fostering a true sense of community."

The free event will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 4 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lions Field, 25 Glen Lane, in Port Washington.

There will be police and fire equipment on display, food, giveaways, and a friendly softball game between Port Washington and Sands Point police departments and the Port Washington Fire Department, "which is a crowd favorite each year."

The event is presented by Littig House Community Center, Port Washington Fire Department, Port Washington Police Department, Sands Point Police Department, and Port Washington Youth Activities.
