LONG ISLAND, NY — Sweet dog, Remy, was found emaciated and all alone running along Rockaway Beach in June 2025. More than a year later, she is still waiting for her forever family.
After she was rescued by an FDNY paramedic, Remy was brought to North Shore Animal League America's Port Washington location, where she received a bath, a full veterinary examination, and a behavioral assessment.
The 6-year-old terrier mix is looking for a fenced-in backyard where she can run, play, and enjoy all the zoomies her heart desires. The merle-coated beauty would do best as the only pet in the home and with children older than 14, according to the shelter.
The shelter said she deserves a chance: "Remy is living proof that a rough beginning doesn't define the future."
More information about Remy and how to adopt her can be found on her profile.
