3 Forced From 'Uninhabitable' Home After Port Washington Fire: FD

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — A Port Washington house fire on Sunday evening left three adults displaced, fire marshals said.

The Port Washington Fire Department responded to Bay Drive after receiving a kitchen fire call at 5:58 p.m., the Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office said.

No injuries were reported, but there is serious damage to the house, which is uninhabitable, fire marshals said.

The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes with approximately 50 firefighters on scene, according to fire marshals.

Fire marshals said mutual aid was provided by Manhasset-Lakeville FD, Plandome FD, and Roslyn FD, all under the command of Chief Saccoccia.

Red Cross was requested for the displaced adults, and the Village of Port Washington North Building Department was on scene to evaluate the house, fire marshals said.
