This year’s Parent Resource Center Annual Dinner and Auction, taking place on Saturday, May 21, will honor Julie Meer Harnick.
Meer Harnick served on the PRC Board as Treasurer for six years and then as Executive Director from 2003 to 2006. She is currently Executive Director of the Community Chest of Port Washington and Treasurer at the League of Women Voters for Port Washington/Manhasset. She has also held positions as Secretary and President at the Port Washington Youth Council Teen Center and Treasurer and Advisory Committee Member at the Port Washington Education Foundation.
Cari Gatto Huszar, PRC Board President, said: “We’re thrilled to have Julie as our honoree this year. The theme of our Annual Dinner and Auction is Building a Strong Community, One Family at a Time. Julie really exemplifies this as someone who has given so much to the PRC and now continues to play an important role in our community.”
Meer Harnick said she was delighted to be honored by the PRC and acknowledged the role it plays in Port Washington life. “This is such a special community. When I had my second child, I could trust the wonderful staff at the PRC to take care of my newborn son – it was about feeling safe and knowing that these women cared about you. “
