Tesla Gets Pinned Under Cement Wall in Port Washington
BREAKING: A passenger trapped underneath the downed column was rescued from the vehicle Wednesday night.
One person was rescued from a Tesla after a cement and brick wall fell on top of the car Wednesday night in Port Washington.
According to fire officials, the vehicle with two people inside struck the cement and brick wall, causing the column to fall on top of the car at the Soundview Market Place on Shore Road at 10 p.m.
The driver was able to exit the vehicle, but the front seat passenger was pinned under the column, fire officials say.

“Port Washington Fire Department immediately stabilized the car and began to stabilize the column as well as administer patient care,” Port Washington Fire Department Chief Brian Waterson said.
It took 35 minutes from the time the PWFD received the call to extricate the passenger, who was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

The PWFD was assisted by specialized rescue teams from the Manhasset Lakeville Fire Department and the Bethpage Fire Department as well as Chester’s Towing Company from Port Washington.
