Producer/director Alexander Payne scripted with Nat Faxon and Jim Rash, from the novel by Kaui Hart Hemmings. The comedy-drama earned an Academy Award for Best Screenplay, and was nominated for Best Picture, Director and Editor. The cast also includes Shailene Woodley, Beau Bridges, Michael Ontkean, Robert Forster, Matthew Lillard and Judy Greer.
