Producer/director Steven Spielberg and screenwriters Lee Hall and Richard Curtis adapt Michael Morpurgo’s novel about the friendship between trainer Albert (Jeremy Irvine) and horse Joey, who both risk their lives in World War I. Peter Mullan, Emily Watson, Niels Arestrup, David Thewlis, Tom Hiddleston and Benedict Cumberbatch round out the cast. Janusz Kaminski served as cinematographer, and John Williams composed the score.
