Port Washington Voice, Community Meeting

Please join us for the first 2012 meeting of the Port Washington Voice.  We are a new, grass-roots group of Port Washington residents who have come together to discuss and develop ways to protect and strengthen our Town's unique character and quality of life.  This Saturday we plan to discuss the pros and cons of the "Model Blocks Program" proposed by the Residents for a More Beautiful Port Washington and the Town of North Hempstead. Model Blocks includes beautification suggestions for Main Street, such as brick sidewalks and improved storefronts, which we support.  However, their proposal also includes the rezoning of Upper Main Street for 4 stories of mixed use, which concerns many of us and our neighbors.  We would like to hear your view.

Our meeting will be held Saturday, January 14, 10-11:30 AM at the Firehouse at 12 Haven Avenue in Port Washington.  If you have further questions about the meeting or about the Port Washington Voice, please contact Frank Scobbo at 516-369-6257, send an email to Laura Shabe at portwashingtonvoice@gmail.com, or visit us at www.portwashingtonvoice.org.  Hope to see you Saturday!
